Artistic Director of LOOP Theatre Laura has been teaching Drama and movement to students with Learning needs since 2002, devising and directing inclusive project/classes and performances in both community settings and large theatres.
She has trained in Dance movement therapy, theatre arts, theatre studies and directing As a director her most recent show was ‘The Sea a fishy tail’ at Platform Glasgow. Her personal practice is rooted in physical theatre, trapeze and dance, her recent performance projects include: a residency with Dance house Glasgow, Buzzcut festival, Elation and PVI for Surge festival
Laura has a history of working on collaborative projects; past partners include Glasgow Museums and the National Library of Scotland.
Laura’s experience as an educator has shown the wider benefits of creative participation in inclusive devised physical theatre and the growth in confidence and trust in a performer comes from long term investment.
Janine has worked in the creative industries for 6 years. She began her teaching career at Stow College where she taught Theatre Studies and Movement along with delivering drama outreach programmes in North Glasgow. She then went on to further her own studies in Physical Theatre at Adam Smith College.
For the last 2 years she has focused primarily on community outreach and engagement working with learning disabilities and young people, drawing on her Drama, dance and circus skills. Janine has been working with LOOP as a performer and teacher since it started in March 2012, She also works for Theatre MODO and volunteers for ENABLE running drama classes Theatre MODO.
Ammie is a stage manager, administrator, driver whatever LOOP needs for their performances and projects. A freelance stage manager since 2013 she has toured with Plutôt la Vie’s,La Tragedie Comique, Melanie Jordan & Caitlin Skinner’s Sanitise (Fringe First Winners 2014) and Alice Mary Cooper’s Waves.
Jamie has been an Art Director / Production Designer for 17 years working in film, television and theatre.
Andrew has attended drama classes for the last five years and is a highly skilled performer. Andrew is part of the performance company and is currently part of LOOPs mentoring system training to be a teaching assistant
