Look Beyond

Following Loop’s successful residency with Dance House, we received funding from Awards for All to create an original site-specific work to tour Glasgow museums and the Hidden Gardens at Tramway. We were lucky enough to be supported by Sense Scotland’s musical ensemble SensorTronic.

“I have been following the work of Loop Theatre since the company’s founding in 2012. In a short space of time, Loop have managed to do extraordinary work – so much so that in 2013 I organized a work placement with Loop for one of our honours students in Theatre Studies at the University of Glasgow. Over the past year I have been following the dance-based physical theatre series, Look Beyond, first at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, then the Glasgow Transport Museum and finally the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art. The creative work of Laura Edwards and her team of artistic collaborators is inspiring. It is a company with so much integrity. To see the mixed-ability cast of performers take on new challenges is thrilling. Their creative growth over this year alone is testament to the kind of work that can be done when dedication, passion and focus by everyone involved are key motivators.”
